On the car journey towards Rapperswil Castle, where Mani Matter would have given a benefit concert for the Balm Foundation, he fatally crashed on November 24, 1972. The news was a shock for the whole of Switzerland.

He would have been able to celebrate his 90th birthday in 2026. To honor this great chansonnier, his plan is to be fulfilled retroactively in November this year with a benefit concert for the Balm Foundation.

Andreas Aeschlimann revives the chansons and stretches the arc to Mani Matter's legendary performance at the Bern Bierhübeli in September 1972.
