On the 90th birthday of Mani Matter, this theater evening is dedicated to his dramatic work and bridges the past and present. Fragments, diary notes, spoken texts, and scenes come together to create a multi-voiced evening between literature and stage. At the center is the relationship of the individual to the community. Mani Matter plays with perspectives, pushes language logic to the absurd, and turns the stage into a space for thought. Recurring characters – author, citizen, hero, and spirit – embody timeless questions between life and art. An evening as a transition between generations – and as a tribute to a great language artist. At 6:45 PM, there will be an introduction to the play with Meret Matter.
