Description
Silke Ziegler: "Lost Lies"
Sina Engel and her team are called to a house fire in Weinheim. One woman is seriously injured, another is recovered dead; a man is missing without a trace. While Sina and her team investigate the family environment, a young girl is picked up. She does not speak and appears to be missed by no one. What is her fate?
The discovery of another corpse raises new questions, and the situation threatens to escalate dramatically.
Silke Ziegler lives with her family in Weinheim on the Bergstraße. She came to writing by chance in 2013 when she stumbled upon her first novel idea during a family vacation in southern France. Since then, she has published romantic thrillers and novels that repeatedly top the SPIEGEL bestseller lists and have been translated into several languages. Lost Lies is her fifth Weinheim crime novel.
Frauke Buchholz: "Doomsday"
A brutal murder of a young family pulls him back into service one last time. The trail of the perpetrator leads deep into the wilderness of Canada and the reserves of the First Nations. Former profiler Ted Garner, driven by excessive ambition and prejudices, quickly convinces himself that he has found the culprit in a young Indigenous man who was recently released from prison. But as he relies on the support of the tribal police for further investigations, he realizes that there is much more behind the case. In the icy nature of northern Canada, Garner finds himself in a merciless fight for life and death.
Frauke Buchholz grew up near Düsseldorf. She studied English and Romance languages and earned her doctorate on contemporary indigenous literature. Her passion is traveling and foreign cultures: she visited numerous reserves in Canada and spent some time in a Cree reserve in Alberta. Today she lives in Aachen.
Brina Stein: "Murder out of Mercy"
On the morning of May 1st, a man is murdered in front of the Eppstein music school. While Detective Chief Inspector Eisenhauer desperately searches for the motive, a second corpse is found in Wildsachsen just a week later. The crime scenes are identical. Not only the police president suspects a serial killer. Eisenhauer is about to retire and is not very enthusiastic that his successor, Lea, fresh from police studies, is more of a burden in the investigations. Out of pure desperation, he calls in the country women Rita, Ute, and Rosi for help. Days later, a third corpse is found – this time in Niedernhausen. All victims are junkies from the drug scene.
Brina Stein has enjoyed her vacation on the sea for over 23 years. What could be more fitting than making this theme the content of her books? In 2020, she added a crime series.
"Brina Stein" is a pseudonym. "Brina" comes from the first name of the author, Sabrina. "Stein" is a declaration of love to her Hessian hometown Eppstein.
