Under the guiding principle "Think like a mature person – be able to rejoice like a child," over the past 60 years of my work as a sculptor, more than 1000 works have been created. For companies in the economy, banks, the public sector, and private individuals. Together with my wife Christine, I have retained or repurchased certain works from estates. This has resulted in a collection of over 170 works, for which the Lozzi Museum Foundation has committed to preserving them as my life's work for posterity.
My works range from hand-sized, delicate to several tons heavy. Most were created based on wordplays, such as the "Resignation machine for hypocrites and heirs" or the "Caressseuse" for neglected people in need of tenderness. Because of this, the media have also referred to me as the cabaret artist among Swiss sculptors. Other works were simply created out of joy of movement, like the "Magic Beetle," a car made of 14 individual parts that mechanically disassembles and reassembles. Regarding the worries and needs, wishes and dreams of people, I repeatedly create human and animal figures from a tin-lead alloy like the "Spring" or the "Unfulfilled Love."
Not entirely serious are the inventions realized with a wink for the benefit of people, animals, and the kingdom of heaven, such as the "Smoker's Fork" or the "Halo Polishing Machine." My goal to make part of our collection accessible to the public in a museum was realized by the Lozzi Museum Foundation in mid-2021. In a historically restored vaulted cellar of Villa Flora in Wald, about a hundred objects could be exhibited.
We soon had to recognize that although atmospheric, the small rooms were unsuitable for the increasing number of tours with 25 or more people. In one of the renovated rooms of the textile industry facility Bleiche (www.bleiche.ch), thanks to significantly larger space, more exhibits can be displayed and tours with 25 or more guests conducted. In the outdoor area, two large wind chimes and smaller figures made of art concrete have already been installed. Further outdoor exhibits are planned.
