«Freshly released from prison, Jaibo, the boastful leader of a youth gang, is observed by Pedro, a more reserved boy, as he murders a young worker. Jaibo lets Pedro go, but at a price (…). Luis Buñuel came to Mexico in 1947 and tried to establish himself in the local film industry. Los olvidados, filmed in the slums of Mexico City, depicts a society dominated by violence and cruelty in harsh yet detached images.
