Description

One day, Sara Oswald, a cellist and mountaineer (sometimes the other way around), meets Loretan, the mountaineer who summited fourteen 8,000-meter peaks and died in 2011. She reads everything, watches everything about him, and falls in love with his silences, his mysteries, his humility. This "solo performance" (with her cello) tells "her" Loretan. For the first time, she writes words, in addition to notes. She shares her confusion in front of this figure of fascination and joy. "One day, I fell in love with a dead man," she says. This tender and lucid journey also recounts our struggles with nature, which often feels very distant to us. It is finally an autobiographical portrait of Sara Oswald, enamored with the silence that follows music as much as that of the peaks, who does not like to talk about climbing gear, and who loves having a wolf engraved on her instrument.
