Description

The two musicians met in autumn 2020 at a joint concert in the Zurich Oberland. It fit so well from the start that they have been regularly performing together ever since. In recent years, they have repeatedly done small tours through Switzerland and played in beautiful churches or concert halls, such as the Tonhalle Zurich, but also at other special places like the Ogna sculpture in Trun or in the rock tunnel of the Castels fortress. The program includes compositions for alphorn and organ, piano and voice, old familiar melodies, and also brand new pieces specially composed for Lisa and Fabienne. The interplay of alphorn and organ is a wonderful sonic experience. While the alphorn plays with round, robust, and almost sung tones, the organ shines with lively embellishments and harmonic accompaniment. It can create a moving volume or a very delicate atmosphere. Each tone on the organ has its own pipe. It is exactly the opposite with the natural instrument alphorn. Here, all tones come from a single pipe; only the lip position controls the pitch. The interplay of alphorn and organ is therefore not only a pleasure in sound but also perfectly complements each other with their opposite construction. The special combination is further enriched by the clear bell-like voice of Fabienne Romer.
