Description

Natalie, a young woman from the provinces, ends up in Berlin. Searching for Johnny – a rock musician with whom she shared a consequential night after a performance in her hometown – she lands at Bahnhof Zoo. When her "fairy tale prince" doesn't show up, Natalie quickly boards the subway: the legendary Linie 1. On the Orient Express to Kreuzberg, she encounters the colorful characters of the big city: life artists and castaways, dealers, drunks, and desperate people – and Bambi, who supports her in her search. These encounters open Natalie's eyes and change her permanently. When she finally faces her prince, she realizes she has outgrown him long ago. Linie 1 is the timeless Berlin cult musical that marked the breakthrough of the Grips Theater in 1986 and has been continuously performed since then, also achieving international success.
