Description

Trombonist Michael Flury and pianist Simone Keller perform well-known classical songs by Franz Schubert alongside extremely rarely heard songs by jazz composers such as Lil Hardin Armstrong and Irene Higginbotham, who wrote a world-famous jazz standard ("Good morning heartache"). The duo Flury/Keller overcomes stylistic boundaries, places Lil Armstrong's "Bad Boy" next to Schubert's lovesick miller's apprentice, and finds a smooth transition from "Oriental Swing" to "Auf dem Strom".
