Description
The forest is not just a simple juxtaposition of trees, but a true living network where each organism interacts with others. During this guided outing, you will explore how the forest functions through competitive and cooperative relationships between trees: sharing or competing for light, water, and nutrients, underground communication, and growth strategies. You will also discover the essential symbioses that connect trees to mycorrhizal fungi, bacteria, lichens, and fauna, as well as traces left by animals. The outing will finally address the impacts of climate change on the forests of Val-de-Ruz: water stress, new diseases, diebacks, and adaptive capacities. An accessible immersion for all to better understand the forest as a complex, fragile, and resilient ecosystem. This guided outing is offered by nature guide and facilitator Claire Barrault. Starting point: Chézard St Martin bus stop, St Martin. Ending point: Dombresson bus stop, Temple. Price: CHF 40.- Children aged 7 to 16 CHF 15.- In French.
