Description

In August 2021, faced with the progression of the Taliban, the artists of the Afghan Girls Theater Group flee Kabul. Welcomed by Jean Bellorini, these young women decide to continue their artistic gesture in France. From this encounter, Les Messagères are born. On a stage covered with water, under the gaze of a huge moon, they form a chorus of warriors and embody Antigone, the one who says no. Performed in Dari language, this creation makes Sophocles' text resonate with a new humanity. Moving from total embodiment to poetic evocation, the actresses carry all the voices of the story with vital intensity. Jean Bellorini orchestrates here a dialogue between heaven and earth, where the beauty of dreams meets the raw truth of the present. Blending laughter and tears, these messengers are no longer just exiles, but ambassadors of universal resistance and an absolute theater, proving that art is the most beautiful space to invent one's destiny and stay true to oneself.
