French chanson from 1950s Paris tells everyday stories and sings about the intoxicating and dark nightlife in the cabarets of Montmartre, it speaks of street performers and fairs, soldiers and sailors, cities like Paris, Vienna, or Amsterdam, and time and again about dreams, disappointments, and the eternal theme of love. Les Lynx consists of singer Annina Gieré and accordionist Mario Strebel, both classical musicians who confidently and passionately work in other genres as well. Les Lynx primarily focuses on French music, especially French chanson. The songs are sung in French, while the program is conducted in German. Annina Gieré weaves a fine thread through the pieces, fully utilizing her acting side – oscillating between bitterness, melancholy, euphoria, and a good dose of comedy.
