Professor Niels "Storm" Robitzky has been dancing since 1983 and gained international fame with Popping, Locking, and B-Boying. He is considered one of the most well-known and influential breakers in Germany and significantly shaped how breaking grew here. In the first part, Storm shares the history of dance – from its beginnings in the Bronx to worldwide dissemination to today. Afterwards, it moves into practice: philosophy, movement, and fundamental techniques of breaking are playfully explored – from Toprock to Downrock. The level will be adapted to the group.

General Information

The 'Breaking with Storm' workshop takes place as part of the SOUNDCITY FREIBURG VII festival. Participants from 18 years old can learn the basics of breaking and familiarize themselves with the history of dance. The event is led by Professor Niels 'Storm' Robitzky, one of the most influential breakers in Germany.
