The Swiss band, led by brothers Stef and Yavor Lilov, invites you on a journey between Krautrock, Cosmic Funk, electronic music, and contemporary jazz – somewhere between the dance floor and a trance state. Growing up in Bulgaria, influenced by traditional folk music and later rooted musically in Switzerland, the Lilov brothers have developed a sound with L’Eclair that connects the past and the future. Since their founding about ten years ago, the band has captivated an international audience with their precise, almost robotic tightness, which remains human, playful, and full of emotion. With their fourth album “Cloud Drifter,” released on the renowned US label Innovative Leisure, L’Eclair opens a new chapter. For the first time, vocals take a more central role: guests like Pink Siifu, Gelli Haha, Phoebe Coco, and other artists expand the previously instrumental cosmos of the band and give the hypnotic grooves a new dimension. Between driving club tracks, psychedelic sound journeys, and warm, nostalgic moments, “Cloud Drifter” showcases the full range of L’Eclair. Their music recalls the experimental spirit of bands like Can or Tortoise, but combines it with modern electronic influences and an undeniable love for the groove.
