Documentary film (France, 2025), directed by Vincent Munier. Following "La Panthère des neiges," wildlife photographer and documentary filmmaker Vincent Munier takes us on another breathtaking journey. Deep in the forests of the Vosges, he learned from his father to read animal tracks and explore where they feed, hunt, build nests, and sleep. Now, it is time to pass this knowledge on to Simon, Vincent's son. Together, the three set out to discover the diversity and enchanting beauty of the ancient, moss-covered forest. Hidden among the trees, grandfather, father, and son spend numerous nights outdoors, observing and listening to the diverse sounds. We discover with them deer, owls, foxes, and lynxes—and sometimes even the flapping wings of a very rare bird: the Western Capercaillie. "Le Chant des forêts" bridges the gap between humans and nature, day and night, personal and universal: a visually magnificent, sensory cinematic poem.
