This event features two ensembles, Ensemble Andalusí del Mediterráneo from Granada, Spain, and Aman Rebetiko from Kavala, Greece, coming together to create a vibrant cultural exchange. They perform centuries-old melodies, modal structures, and improvisations that transcend borders, expressing timeless Mediterranean themes such as love, exile, and longing. The concert highlights the rich musical heritage of the Arab-Andalusian tradition, which evolved from a blend of Arab, Berber, Iberian, and Jewish cultures, and its influence on the development of Rebetiko in Greece.
