Laurent Nicoud Piano solo

Description

The Swiss pianist, improviser, and composer Laurent Nicoud, born in 1991, is active as a soloist, but also in duo, trio, symphony orchestra, and chamber music, including jazz and classical music. After his classical studies in Neuchâtel and Geneva, he continued his successful musical career in New York.

In Glarus, he will present his solo program "Book of Ostinatos." His 4th album is a collection of twenty original compositions exploring the idea of the ostinato as a rhythmic or repeating motif. They draw their inspiration from the idioms of modern jazz, but also from Latin American, Oriental, and classical music.
