Description
La Veuve is a jewel of dark humor in object theater. A falsely ceremonial monologue, delightfully irreverent, where domestic memories slip. It talks about mourning, clumsiness, and tenderness incarnated in chips and slightly lukewarm white wine. After being a German teacher in The Game of Nibelungen, Laura Gambarini returns to address this time the theme of death, the thoughts never confessed, the little sighs buried behind conventions. Through puppets and object theater, the actress brings to life a joyfully biting and politically incorrect feast. During this somewhat special funeral, the husband is embodied by a slice of ham – he is the worst and the best the widow has met in her entire life… a show that can be enjoyed like a slightly too salty aperitif. And leaves a aftertaste of freedom. Laura Gambarini, holder of a master's degree in modern literature, trained in mime and pantomime in Berlin. Back in Switzerland, she invests in public space to make live performance accessible to all, focusing on proximity and the unexpected. The result is a theater where the object speaks and the ordinary takes on epic proportions. A skillfully crafted art, presented in non-dedicated spaces.
