Description

Haydn's Symphony No. 31, nicknamed 'Mit dem Hornsignal', dates from 1765 and is part of the period when the composer shaped modern symphonic forms at the Esterházy court. Beethoven's 'Heroic' Symphony, created in 1805, marks a historic turning point: through its grandeur and symbolic charge, it opens a new path. Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 1 K. 412/514, completed by Süssmayr, highlights the special role of this instrument in Viennese Classicism. Olivier Picon, a natural horn specialist, emphasizes its ancient colors, while Meret Lüthi, violinist and conductor, leads the ensemble with a very precise stylistic attention. The Passions of the Soul give this program a historically informed, energetic, and lively interpretation. PROGRAMME Haydn, Symphony No. 31 in D major Hob.
