Description
Attendance: Filmmakers
Curated by: screen*in – space for film feminisms In our program DREAMING OF A FUTURE ARCHIVE, we showcase short films
by filmmakers studying or who have studied at HFBK Hamburg (Hamburg University of Fine Arts). Queerness is depicted as a journey where we acquire and explore new spaces: spaceships, pirate ships, safe harbors, and current driftwood. We travel together through uncertain waters and explore what is possible.
Screen*in – space for film feminisms is a curatorial collective from Hamburg. We dig out films, explore, discuss, curate – building kinship through time. We connect with queer-feminist archives and their absence in institutions, developing new perspectives from this history. We watch films, listen, select, and discuss together to present films in various formats and networks.
Our goal is to highlight the depth, complexity, and aesthetic diversity of queer-feminist filmmaking. The short films have English subtitles, and the film discussions are conducted in English.

In our short film program, DREAMING OF A FUTURE ARCHIVE, we present works by filmmakers who are studying or have studied film at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. The films take us on a journey through queerness and the exploration of spaces – spaceships, friendships, pirateships, kinships, relationships, and companionships. Uncharted waters are navigated, and the possible is explored.
Screen*in – space for film feminisms is a curatorial collective based in Hamburg. We dig out, explore, discuss, and curate films – building kinship through time. We engage with queer-feminist archives and their absence from institutional contexts, drawing on this history to develop new perspectives. We watch films, listen, curate selections, and discuss them together to present films across various formats and networks.
In this way, we aim to highlight and bring to light the depth, complexity, and aesthetic diversity of queer-feminist filmmaking. The short films have English subtitles, and the film discussions are held in English.
