Description
Lines accompany us everywhere. We leave them unconsciously on our daily paths, consciously draw them on digital maps during hikes, or use them to connect the past and present on timelines. In a world increasingly shaped by networks, we ourselves become part of complex fabrics of relationships, movements, and encounters. Lines still also appear in purely analog forms: as wool threads in textile works, as hatching on paper, or as traces of artistic gestures. The current exhibition by Kollektiv Zweievierzg at the Sust is dedicated to these diverse meanings of the line. The collective was founded over ten years ago. Since then, the participating artists have taken individual paths, developed different expressive forms, and continued their work in various stylistic and geographical directions. Despite this diversity, their artistic lines have always remained connected. At the Sust, these individual positions converge into a common nexus of works, performances, and texts. The exhibition combines different media and perspectives and invites visitors to discover connections between tradition and modernity, analog and digital, as well as individual and collective creation. The participating artists are Samuel Rossi, Naomi Mathys, Luca Balli, Yanick Monaco, Christoph Schmidt, and Raphael von Matt. Together, they create a multi-layered exhibition space where personal experiences, artistic processes, and societal questions intertwine. Through the presence of the artists, the exhibition offers not only insights into the works created but also the opportunity to get to know the people behind the works and learn about their thoughts on the drawn, knotted, and connected lines.
