I consider the picture surface as a concentrated field of vision, as if looking through an optical device with an investigative gaze.
Yet it is hard to say how much the image is zoomed in and what remains blurry despite careful observation.
The title and the meticulously constructed, open-to-interpretation color and graphite areas open a pictorial space that plays on the viewer's perspective.

Eli Equagoo lives and works in Solothurn. In his artistic practice, he combines painting and installation in multimedia contexts. His works revolve around memory, identity, and origin. He is interested in moments when the familiar becomes blurred and cannot be clearly classified. Images, moods, and inner fragments emerge without being fully graspable. His current works seek approaches to visualize memories as well as imprints.
