Description
The open-air exhibition “KUNST AUF DEM LYRIKWEG” in Guttet-Feschel uniquely combines nature, literature, and contemporary art. Along the Lyrikweg, nestled in the alpine steppe landscape with sweeping views of the Upper and Lower Valais, a multifaceted art experience unfolds in public space. Drawing inspiration from Rainer Maria Rilke’s poetry, visitors encounter artistic works that engage with his texts, themes, and questions. At the same time, visitors can also listen to the audio production of Rilke’s *Quatrains Valaisans* along the trail, which features the poems as well as background information on Rilke’s life and work. This creates a sensory connection between walking, listening, and seeing—a multifaceted experience that bridges poetry, space, and perception. ART ON THE LYRIK WALK is part of the 2026 Rilke Program and is intended as an open, accessible gateway to art and literature in public spaces. The exhibition is aimed equally at art enthusiasts, hikers, and a broad audience.
