The singer Christina Jaccard, who lives in Zurich and New York, grew up in a musical family and was exposed to jazz, blues, and gospel at an early age. A classical career would have been open to her, but she broke off her training as an opera singer to follow her own artistic path - and thus developed into one of the most distinctive voices in the Swiss music scene.

Her voice is considered an unmistakable blend of sensitivity, power, and authenticity. With her much-cited "blackest of all white voices," she conveys vitality and emotional depth and lets the audience feel the honesty of Black music directly. Through her expressiveness and distinctive stage presence, she manages to deeply touch people. For her artistic achievement, she was awarded first prize at the Interpop Festival in Budapest and, together with David Ruosch, the Swiss Jazz Award.

Although her roots are firmly anchored in gospel and blues, Christina Jaccard remains musically versatile. She repeatedly seeks new collaborations and excursions into other genres: as a guest star of the legendary Jackson Singers on their Swiss tour or in projects such as Divamix with Michael von der Heide. Appearances in musicals are also part of her repertoire.

Currently, she delights with thematic programs such as Bessie Smith - The Empress of the Blues, Nina Simone - High Priestess of Soul, Marlene… and nothing else - a portrait of the icon Marlene Dietrich - as well as a tribute to Martin Luther King.
