EXHIBITION THREE MEN, THREE CENTURIES, ONE CASTLE at Křinec Castle TOURS WITH THE CASTLE OWNER AND LECTURES This year marks an impressive twenty years since our castle changed owners and also twenty years since its reconstruction began, bringing the castle back to life. In celebration of this milestone, we have decided to prepare, in collaboration with the Town of Křinec, an exhibition featuring three personalities connected by one object – our castle. You will embark on a true journey through time, filled with interesting facts and materials you may have never seen before: the 19th century with Antonín Stifter: a local pharmacist, researcher, and photographer who contributed to the first amateur photographic nude; the 20th century with Leopold Nejle: a passionate chronicler of Křinec, who will give us insight into period chronicles and other historical or fascinating personal materials, and the present with Zdeněk Harapes: the castle owner, thanks to whom it is thriving, though it is not easy, as evidenced by photographs and examples of the castle's condition "before and after." The exhibition will run from May to October 2026, and during the exhibition, there will also be guided tours with the castle owner and a series of unique lectures featuring Mr. Harapes' personal story and many interesting insights from the "behind the scenes" of the reconstruction and ownership of the castle. A tour of Křinec Castle is a grand narrative about the very turbulent history of the noble families that have owned and lost the castle over the centuries. It is a story of rises, falls, and the near-definitive demise of this extraordinarily precious monument, which, thanks to the tireless efforts of its current owners, has been preserved for us and will be preserved for future generations. As part of the tour, you can view both the historical and renovated part of the castle with blue salons and a baroque hall, as well as, if time allows, the part with current exhibitions, where you can peek into rooms that have not yet undergone reconstruction and are thus in their "raw" state. This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the castle receiving its second chance at life, and thanks to the care of a private owner, it is gradually beginning to thrive.
