Description
Eight young musicians come together in music studies to perform Schubert's D 803 jewel - the beginning of the joint path. Beyond the original literature, they arrange their own repertoire. The new sound sets accents in classical music, seeks 'homeward' - as also under the other two CD titles 'Verliebt i Züri' and 'Marchstei' - for Swiss roots, builds bridges 'à Paris' e.g. to the French chanson. Under this tension arc, the ensemble shapes its performances in expanding formations 'variations' from solo to chamber orchestra. The former students have become established professional musicians, members of the major Swiss orchestras and lecturers at the most important training institutes, who ignite the contagious enthusiasm for CH8 through their joy of playing with the audience. The active concert activity led the ensemble in recent seasons, among others, to the Zurich Tonhalle (there with Wagner's “Götterdämmerung” into the world of leitmotifs and the dramatic escalations of the opera cycle “Der Ring des Nibelungen”). In the 25/26 season, the traditional ensemble was heard, among others, on a “Tour de France” sound ship, on which the octet traveled concertizing from Paris to Le Havre. Here in Dietikon, they will play pieces from Spain, Italy, Austria, and Germany (1st part) and then (2nd part) deal with Swiss folk music. Pieces by Rossini, Bizet, Mozart, and Schubert. Folk music arranged by Florian Walser. More info: https://www.schweizeroktett.ch
