Description

A program full of Spanish and Latin American passion. Works by Jaques Ibert, Rodrigo, Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla, Maurice Ravel, and Astor Piazzolla span from impressionistic sound colors to fiery tango rhythms. Prof. Jaime González, born in Chile, studied oboe with Hans Elhorst, Thomas Indermühle, and Heinz Holliger. As a soloist as well as chamber and orchestral musician, he has performed with the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, among others. Since 2009, Jaime González has been a professor of oboe, chamber music, and contemporary music at the University of the Arts Bern. José Antonio Escobar, also born in Chile, is one of the most versatile classical guitarists of his generation. He has won numerous awards, including 1st prize and audience prize at the Francisco Tárrega Competition in Benicàssim. Escobar has performed worldwide, both solo and with orchestra. In cooperation with Vivace Freiburg e. V.
