Description
Klezmer is music that tells stories and makes emotions immediately palpable. Originating in Ashkenazi Jewish culture, it has been passed down through generations for centuries and continually reinterpreted. Its special power lies in the interplay of exuberant festive joy, longing, melancholy, and fine humor. The 7-member Eastern Swiss Klezmer ensemble "Rosinkes" (Yiddish "Rozhinkes", meaning raisins, small dried, sometimes sweet grapes) dedicates itself to this versatile music with great joy and a unique musical profile. In addition to selected classical Klezmer pieces, the ensemble presents its own arrangements, continually opening up new sound perspectives. The diverse instrumentation with clarinet, string instruments, piano, accordion, flute, and vocals allows for varied interplay and vibrant sound colors. The music is played not for political or ideological reasons, but purely for the joy of music and collaboration. Let yourself be touched and carried away! Featuring: René Wohlgensinger (clarinet), Judith Ammann (violin and viola), Evely Franceschini (piano), Simone Kuster (cello), Franziska Lenzin (flute), Herbert Oechsler (accordion), Jolena Ojeifoh (violin)
