The Bernese tenor saxophonist Klaus Widmer will be supported by the Jazz Orchestra University of Bern (JOUB) on this evening. Klaus Widmer studied tenor saxophone at the Swiss Jazz School Bern and has been performing with big bands and small bands both domestically and internationally since 1990. Founded in December 1995 as "Uni Big Band," the JOUB is now one of the established names in the Bern jazz scene. Under the direction of Wolfgang Pemberger, the orchestra maintains a deliberately broad repertoire — from classical swing to Latin American rhythms to funk and contemporary big band jazz.
