Description

King Woman combines drone, shoegaze, and doom metal with ethereal influences and began as a solo project by Kristina Esfandiari before the project grew into a full band in 2017 with the release of "Created in the Image of Suffering." Four years later, the group returned with the dynamic album "Celestial Blues," which incorporated post-rock and grunge elements into their sound. Esfandiari, also known for her work with/under Miserable, Dalmatian, Sugar High, and NGHTCRWLR, founded King Woman in 2009. In 2021, their hypnotic second album "Celestial Blues" was released, exploring themes like trauma and religion, inspired by Esfandiari's childhood in a strongly religious environment and her detachment from it.
