Children's Opera Orchestra

Description

The Zurich Opera House, in close collaboration with all 35 music schools of the Canton of Zurich, organizes a Children's Opera Orchestra and supports the valuable work of the music schools. Around 80 talented instrumentalists aged 8 to 14 have the opportunity to expand their musical practice and meet musicians from all regions of the canton. From September to the end of May, the young musicians develop their skills further and experience what it means to blend into an orchestral sound and become part of a larger whole. The highlight is the performance on the stage of the Zurich Opera House: under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda and Ann-Katrin Stöcker, the Children's Opera Orchestra performs together with soloists from the Zurich Opera House and presents excerpts from Gaetano Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore" as well as dances by Eastern European composers.

General Information

The Children's Opera Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House offers talented young musicians the opportunity to develop their skills. In collaboration with 35 music schools of the Canton of Zurich, the children rehearse from September to May and ultimately perform together.
