An impulse lecture by Fabian Grolimund, psychologist When children avoid tasks with an "I can't do it!" or give up at the slightest difficulty, we adults are often unsettled. How should one react? How to give the child more self-confidence? Obvious solutions like positive affirmations or praise often seem to help little. True self-efficacy does not simply develop through encouragement. Children must repeatedly experience that they can learn new things, make a difference, and overcome obstacles. And they need parents and caregivers who give them the opportunity to do so, meet uncertainty with understanding, and repeatedly challenge the children appropriately. In this lecture, you will learn what self-efficacy is, how it develops, and how adults can contribute to children increasingly trusting themselves. Fabian Grolimund is a psychologist and author. Together with Stefanie Rietzler, he leads the Academy for Learning Coaching in Zurich and has published several guides for parents and novels for children with her. Among them are "Safe, brave, free - how children find inner strength" and "Jaron on the trail of happiness." We warmly welcome parents, educators, staff, and interested parties to our event, followed by a small aperitif. Registration is not required. Admission is free.
