The topic of AI is currently on everyone's lips. Opinions range between the poles "Utopia is near" and "AI means the end of the world." There is a hype atmosphere.
In fact, we are given a groundbreaking technology with AI, comparable to the revolutionary technological leaps of the past, such as from carriage to car, or from TNT to the atomic bomb. We are just at the beginning of the new developments. This course highlights the current state of affairs regarding AI, the resulting opportunities and risks for both the individual and society as a whole. It explains, among other things, where the term "intelligence" in the abbreviation "AI" is misleading and where it is not, how AI is fundamentally structured, which professional groups will be affected by the impact of the new technology as much as the carriage manufacturers were compared to the car manufacturers, which professional groups can use AI as a motor in the Darwinian sense, and which should possibly retrain in time. Last but not least, this course deals with the psychological aspect of the impact of the human-like functions of a chat-based AI on the individual. -Disclaimer: this is a socio-political course, the technical basics are explained only as briefly as necessary.
