The evening begins with Ludwig van Beethoven's Serenade in D major, Op. 8, a work in seven movements featuring march, adagio, minuet, scherzo, polonaise, and variations. Next, Ernst von Dohnányi's Serenade in C major, Op. 10 is performed before the program continues with Beethoven's string trio in G major, Op. 9 No. 1. The piece consists of four movements and concludes with a presto.
