Have you heard of the Kellerämterlauf? Last year, more children than ever before took part in this fun running event: Over 400 children and teens lined up at the starting line. The Kellerämterlauf is a race exclusively for children. Children and teens born in 2011 or later are eligible to participate. There are three distances to choose from, each tailored to the participants’ age groups. The youngest participants may be accompanied by an adult (mom, dad, grandparents, godparents). Since 2023, there has also been a “Fun” category where the focus is on having fun. All participating children run at their own pace without any pressure and receive a finisher’s medal at the finish line. Times are recorded, but no rankings are compiled. This year’s Kellerämterlauf will be extra special: It takes place on October 31—Halloween itself! That’s why the Fun category will feature a one-time Halloween special. Anyone who wants to can line up at the starting line in costume and enter the contest for the most original costumes. A jury will award prizes for the most creative costumes, and great prizes await the winners. This year marks the 17th edition of the Kellerämterlauf. The Kellerämterlauf organizing committee looks forward to seeing lots of happy children, imaginative costumes, and proud parents and guardians.
