Kammermusik Luzern: Avi Avital & Luzerner Kammermusiker

Description

Avi Avital is a guest with the Luzerner Kammermusiker, one of the most important ambassadors of the mandolin in classical concert life, who has been setting standards beyond traditional boundaries with his artistic projects for years. Traditionally, the new year starts with Bach, and at the same time, the view opens to new sound spheres. Bruce’s Cymbeline, composed especially for Avi Avital, is inspired by the warm, golden shimmering tone of the mandolin. That Shostakovich also mastered the lighter genre is shown by his Two Pieces for String Quartet. In Bartók’s duos, Hungarian peasant melodies – like the Hinketanz – reveal their roots in genuine dance music. His famous Romanian Folk Dances and the amusing miniatures by Tsintsadze complete the versatile chamber music program.
