Johle und Gradhebe

Description

Natural yodel melodies and songs from the Alpstein culture are introduced and accompanied in multi-voice with the «Gradhebe». The necessary yodel technique is practiced in approach and applied directly in practice. The special vowels of the «Gradhebe» shape the choir sound and make its vibrations immediately perceptible.

In addition, the natural harmonic series and its significance in natural yodeling are the focus. Connections between sound, body, and tradition arise. Thus, the natural harmonic series connects with the lively alpine and singing culture in Alpstein, a culture that embodies simplicity, authenticity, and the power of singing together.

The workshop is conducted identically in March, August, and November. Each date can be booked individually. The price applies per session.

General Information

The workshop takes place at Klangwelt Toggenburg in Wildhaus and teaches natural yodel melodies as well as the technique of the «Gradhebe». Participants learn to connect sound, body, and tradition. Each date can be booked individually and is led by experienced instructors.
