Description

With A German Requiem, Johannes Brahms created one of the most moving choral works of the 19th century – music of comfort, hope, and humanity. The vocal ensemble ardent and the Bern organist Lee Stalder present the work in the rarely performed version for choir and organ. In this chamber music-dense version, text and musical expression come to the fore particularly directly. The solo parts are performed by the Swiss soprano Kathrin Hottiger and the multiple award-winning baritone Felix Gygli.
