Description
Embark on a hallucinatory railway epic with Venitchka, an alcoholic writer trying to reach his beloved in the Moscow suburbs, even as he plunges into a colossal drunken spree... between fierce humor and unlikely philosophical digressions, the journey takes unexpected turns. A free adaptation set in contemporary Russia of the cult dissident novel Moscow-Petouchki (USSR, 1969) by Venedikt Erofeïev, I've Never Seen the Kremlin takes you on a wild ride that scrutinizes, through a joyful and drunken satire, all the violence and absurdities of totalitarian regimes, whether Soviet, Russian, or from elsewhere, past and present. Founded in 2010 by Yan Walther, Le Théâtre de la Recherche creates poetic shows and performances that address philosophical and social questions through fiction and humor: September 11, 2001 (2011); No One Has the Right to Die Here (2013); Leaving Territorial Waters (2020); Win-Win (Our Weapons) (2021). The extra touch Dive into post-Soviet Russia with "The Fever of Petrov" by Kirill Serebrennikov on September 28, 29, and 30 at 7:00 PM at Cinéma MINIMUM.
