Elina Duni, the British guitarist Rob Luft and the Swiss flugelhorn player Matthieu Michel is known for its border crossings between jazz, folk and chanson. They meet the Berlin Vision String Quartet, who often play their programs by heart and standing up. This creates an energetic, almost pop-like stage presence. In addition to the classical repertoire such as Shostakovich, they arrange and compose their own works that combine elements of jazz, pop and rock with the world of classical music.

Officially, Dmitri Shostakovich's 8th String Quartet was dedicated to the "victims of fascism and war". Shostakovich composed it within three days in July 1960. But behind it lies a deeply autobiographical work. This is also supported by the composer's monogram - the DSCH motif (D-Es-C-H). The composer's musical initials run through all the movements of the quartet.
