Ah, youth! Don't we all wish to be 16 again? No, Jane Mumford would rather not. She has never been charmed by romantic stories of growing up. What could be romantic in a time full of pimples, overload, and performance pressure?! As a child, the world still seemed magical, but as a teenager, only one thing mattered: being cool, belonging, finding true love... and also achieving something before dying! That's why Jane Mumford, overwhelmed, spent her teenage years alone and withdrawn as a gothic tap dancer. Because against the fear of not belonging, there is only one solution: not wanting to be there! Ha! Solitude as self-emancipation! And perhaps she has never truly left that adolescence? Because sometimes, she still surprises herself trying to be "cool", and then she really doesn't feel cool. And then, all the doubts, the pain of the world, and the "overthinking"—like in teenage times—come back to hit her... in the darkest shadows of the night.
