JAKUB STANJURA (writer) His debut novel Srpny (2023) about manipulation and gaslighting quickly became a bestseller upon release, and it has also been adapted for the stage and translated into several foreign languages. In October, his second novel Medúzy (2025) was published, sparking numerous discussions. It tells the story of a complicated friendship and chronic intestinal disease. Genre-wise, it hovers somewhere between psychological prose, body horror, and mysterious detective fiction. In Exile, we will talk not only about these two novels but also about what Jakub Stanjura is planning next. The author reading will be musically accompanied by cellist and singer VERONIKA HLOŽKOVÁ, who will present her solo project VERONIQUE as a cellist, lyricist, and singer. The project is based on her exceptional voice and looping, through which she creates uniquely fragile yet very intense songs.
