Description

J. R. R. Tolkien – the story of the writer who breathed life into Middle-earth If you enjoy wandering through Middle-earth and want to travel back and forth to the world of The Lord of the Rings, we invite you to a tale about the man who created this world. A gifted linguist, university professor, writer, husband, and father. That was John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, and much more. He once began telling his children the first stories, from which later grew The Hobbit and the entire legendarium of Middle-earth. What was his life like? Where did he grow up and what shaped him? How did The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings come to be? And who was Tolkien not just as an author, but primarily as a person? Come enjoy his story presented by Nerdopolis and the podcasts Wanderings with Tolkien and There and Back Again. You can expect not a dry lecture, but a performance that is much more than just a retelling of known facts! It is a lively narration full of the atmosphere of a world that continues to inspire generations of readers. Musical accompaniment on harp and nyckelharpa will be provided by Kamil “Šedovous” Kaiser.
