Description

Many people are familiar with chickens primarily as fried eggs or chicken nuggets. However, knowledge about one of our most important farm animals is often limited. This temporary exhibition looks beyond the plate. It showcases the animals’ way of life, their needs, their breeding successes, and their ancestry. It also highlights the growing importance of the chicken as a source of food. Following a welcome address by Daniela Zingg, director of the Winterthur Natural History Museum, Hannes Geisser, director of the Thurgau Natural History Museum, will provide an overview of the exhibition. Afterward, Sabrina Schnurrenberger, Curator of Biology, will lead a guided tour of the exhibition. We are pleased to invite you to a reception.
