Description
In life and psychotherapy, we navigate between two extremes. On one hand, we can deny or underestimate the presence and significance of the transmission of family experiences and traumas on our current mental functioning. On the other hand, identification with the past (with trauma) can hinder change and development towards a free and beneficial individual identity. In the presentation, we will describe the manifestations and motives for these two extreme positions.
A potential psychotherapeutic (and life) path will also be proposed to cope with the transmission of intergenerational influences and to build personal identity.
