Why does the snail come out when it rains? Is it male or female? Why does its shell form a spiral? "Snails!", the new exhibition at the Nature Center Les Cerlatez in Saignelégier answers all these questions. Through an interactive journey, it invites the public to discover the fascinating world of these gastropods. Anatomy, feeding habits, lifestyle, or even how they move or sleep, the different facets of these small animals that are so familiar yet little known are explored through practical experiments and games accessible to all. Quizzes adapted to different audiences are also offered to guide the visit. A laboratory where it will be possible to observe the shells of several snail species using binoculars is also available. Immersion among insects With its beautiful decor, the exhibition "The Hidden World of Insects" offers visitors a dive into the buzzing universe of the tiny. Through games, interactive experiments, and augmented reality animations, the public can familiarize themselves with the surprising abilities of insects and discover their incredible diversity as well as the challenges they face. Essential to our ecosystems and to humans, insects are nevertheless in sharp decline. The various interactive modules of the exhibition help better understand their importance and the measures to be implemented to slow their decline. The contents of the two exhibitions are available in French and German. "The Hidden World of Insects" can be explored at the Nature Center Les Cerlatez until October 18, 2026. "Snails!" will remain visible until October 2027. The Nature Center Les Cerlatez is open from March 14 to October 18, 2026, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 PM to 6 PM.
