Description

ROSE ARDENTE is a multidisciplinary musical performance that invites the audience on a sensory journey where music, poetry, voice, imagery, and the stage interact in a single artistic breath. At the intersection of the acoustic and electroacoustic worlds, this performance explores the many archetypes of femininity—strength, tenderness, vulnerability, memory, metamorphosis, and freedom—in a musical journey inspired by the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, where the rose becomes a symbol of the richness and creative power of the feminine universe. The project’s central theme draws deeply from the work of Rainer Maria Rilke, and more specifically from his collection *The Roses*, written in Valais. For Rilke, the rose becomes much more than a flower: it is a symbol of presence, fragile beauty, fulfillment, and mystery. The composers involved in this project have used this image as a starting point to create a musical language in which the rose serves as a metaphor for womanhood in all its complexity: rooted yet free, delicate yet passionate, intimate yet universal. The program brings together works by major composers such as Leo Brouwer, Emil Tabakov, Astor Piazzolla, Lubo Denev, Carl Vine, Line Tjørnhoj, and Ejnar Kanding, along with several original compositions written specifically for the Duo ConCordis. At the heart of this production is a previously unperformed cycle of five songs, premiering as a world premiere based on Rainer Maria Rilke’s “The Roses,” which serves as the show’s poetic thread. This cycle is complemented by three other original works making their world premieres, set to music by Carl Vine, Jean-Christophe Rosaz, Veneziella Naydenova, and Irina-Kalina Goudeva, fostering an ongoing dialogue between contemporary composition and the great universal poetry. Texts by Rainer Maria Rilke, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Pablo Neruda, Paulo Coelho, Henry Noverraz, Cécile Sauvage, and Irina-Kalina Goudeva weave a poetic tapestry that explores beauty, fragility, memory, love, nature, and inner transformation. Through a multimedia stage design in which visual projections, lighting, soundscapes, and the performers’ presence intertwine, ROSE ARDENTE offers an immersive, poetic, and universal artistic experience. Each performance becomes a living work of art in which the audience is invited to journey through a landscape of emotions, resonances, and silence, within an intimate interplay of the arts.
