Description

When we describe something as repetitive, we often mean: boring. Yet we find comfort in the repetition of our rituals. In the careful preparation of the first coffee in the morning. In the familiar way to work. In small routines that start or end the day. Repetition is a fundamental element of our daily rituals – a way to encounter ourselves anew time and again. This concert explores repetition as a musical force. Recurring sounds, mechanical gestures, structures of copy and shift: What happens to our perception when we hear the same passage over and over again? And again and again?
