Description

We sing and delve into enchanting songs and polyphonies from Georgia, Italy, Corsica, the rainforests of Central Africa, Scandinavia, and other cultures. We let the music arise in the present moment during guided improvisations. We sing a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment) and in multiple voices, listening to each other. We explore and savor the timbres of our voices as well as the harmony of the group. We set aside all thoughts about what is 'good' or 'bad' singing to trust in the power of music, rhythm, and the collective. No knowledge of music theory is required — we learn the songs by ear. Experience in polyphonic singing is an advantage. Autumn 2026: Seven singing evenings. Wednesday group: 14.10, 21.10, 28.10, 04.11, 11.11, 18.11, and 02.12. Thursday group: 15.10, 22.10, 29.10, 05.11, 12.11, 19.11, and 26.11. Always from 19:00 to 21:00. A little preparation or review time between the evenings is desired. Pricing (based on self-assessment): Registration until September 15: between 175 and 315 CHF per cycle (early bird rate). From September 16: between 200 and 315 CHF per cycle. Discounts are possible upon request. Trial session: It is possible to participate in the first evening to discover the workshop (30 CHF if you only participate in this first date). Registration: If possible, by October 6, 2026, at the latest; cycles will be confirmed after this date. Where: Praxis Goldpunkt, Ring 12, 2502 Biel. The number of participants is limited to 12 people (minimum 6). Risha is a music educator and singer, with a particular love for traditional vocal music from various cultures — from Africa to the Balkans to Scandinavia — as well as for styles such as yodeling, throat singing, polyphony, and vocal improvisation.

Join us for 'Ich, du, wir singen - Singabende', a series of seven singing evenings focused on a cappella polyphonic music from around the world. Sessions will take place in Biel, Switzerland, from October to December 2026, encouraging participants to connect through guided improvisation and collective harmony.
