Born in the horse-drawn carriage era, died in a world with the internet – Astrid Lindgren's life spans the 20th century like hardly any other. Her books reflect and accompany it in a fascinating way. While the world changed at an unprecedented speed, the characters in her books represent the values that hold them together: Pippi Longstocking, Michel from Lönneberga, Mio. Strong child characters who stand for justice, generosity, respect. Martin Mühleis has created a stage monologue for the actress Gesine Cukrowski from interviews, letters, and quotes, in which she slips into the role of the great Swedish author and tells the story of a little farmer girl who became one of the most influential women of the past century. Emotional actor-theater in an original mix of acting, reading, and live music specially composed for the play. An emotional, visually enchanting evening about courage, imagination, and the power of storytelling. GESINE CUKROWSKI began her career on the theater stage and performed, among others, at the Berlin Volksbühne, the Salzburg Festival, and the Theater Basel. Later, she became widely known especially through the crime series "The Last Witness," in which she acted alongside Ulrich Mühe, as well as through her participation in the ZDF crime series "Last Trace Berlin."
